I am an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We were all given gifts of the Spirit at our baptism. My spiritual gift is to be set aside for full-time vocational ministry. I have the joy of being Christ’s ambassador for the Church sharing the love and mercy of Christ with the gracious support of a local congregation. I love the work I am called to do.
I grew up in Northeast Ohio. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from Walsh College in Canton, OH. I earned my Master of Divinity (seriously, how do you master the Divine?) from Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, KY. I am serving Christ’s Church at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Bethany, IL.
I love to preach and teach the Word of God, but that’s not all a minister does. As a pastor, I have many opportunities outside of the church walls to minister to my neighbors. My most favorite is mentoring elementary-aged girls through an after-school program called Girls on the Run which empowers girls to recognize their individual beauty, make healthy choices and believe they can achieve great things. I am also a member of the Board of Directors of CEFS Economic Opportunity Corporation, a community action agency providing services to the disadvantaged in 7 counties. Through this work, I advocate for assistance to neighbors in need and connect individuals to resources to aid in their effort to sustain their family and home.
I like cooking, chocolate, shoes, and reading. Oh, and lots and lots of coffee. I can often be found reading or studying at the chapel of St. Arbucks. I like my chocolate dark and my coffee hot and black, unless its a Holiday Spice Flat White!
